Our first AGM as a charity carried out the important business of presenting the annual report, the accounts, and electing trustees, who will also form the Friend’s committee for the coming year.
Our long-standing secretary Ellen Stuart retired, but we are pleased to announce that David Clarke was elected as our new secretary, Jane Evans re-elected as treasurer and membership secretary, and Keith Lewis, Bob Lucas, and John Monks re-elected as trustees for another year. Unfortunately there was no candidate for a Chairman.
The next AGM will be held in May 2027.
A workshop to plan for our future work
After the formal business of the AGM, John Monks and Jon Bell oversaw two workshops to gather ideas about how to progress our work to develop the canal basin and Heritage Harbour activities, and how to encourage freight to use the canal.
